Why do people do public shootings?

Why the hell do people do these public shootings. Just now at south center mall in tukwila, wa, there was a shooting two people gunned down already. they locked the mall down with people still inside. I hate these people that try to get dam attention based on their stupid actions. if you want to make a statement kill yourself in a way that gives you attention....what you think?
