Depending on the type of compressor you may also have to adjust for any heating of the inlet gas (or air). In many positive displacement compressors, the incoming gas (or air) will receive some heating from the cylinder walls and piston. Also the gas (or air) left in the cylinder due to the end clearance complicates the equation. Likewise the efficiency of the compressor valves can let some discharge gas (or air) back into the cylinder resulting in a higher gas (or air) temperature on the start of the compression stroke.
