Why do Christians support Israel so much even after the atrocities that Israel has been committing?

To anyone with half a brain, Israel has shown remarkable restraint in it's war against terrorism (just as the US has). If Israel wanted to commit an atrocity, it could put a mushroom cloud over every Muslim capital in the region.
